![]() ![]() The way it works now, Calibre writes them into an import area and you import them, or you grab them from the content server using Aldiko's network access functions. Are you referring to the folder structure or the actual SQL file?ĪFAIK, to get Calibre and Aldiko to work well together, one would want Calibre to write into the Aldiko SQL file (the "Aldiko database") and write the books into the Aldiko file structure the way Aldiko expects them to be organized. Calibre does the same thing, although the fields and folder structure differ. IIRC, Aldiko uses an SQL database and a folder structure. I got it working just fine with calibres content server, but I dont know what this authentication thing youre asking about is. Ive tried pretty much all of them, but I dont think Ill use anything but Aldiko again. You wrote about an alternative of just having Calibre "mimic aldiko" in the context of a conversation about having Calibre change the Aldiko database directly, then you say you're referring to directly changing the database. I find Aldiko is the best Android reader, both in terms of working as a reader, and working with calibre. The beginning part is the 'sync to folder' part of calibre, just being used with the same folder structure aldiko already uses to store books.I'm confused. I was referring to directly changing the aldiko database. It could be good, or it could be not particularly useful. I still believe that it could be a very sweet pairing, but I have no idea what has happened in the last year. My plans were to do at least as well as we do with the sony. They have their own priorities, and it makes sense that they pay attention to them.Īldiko does (did) use a database, and at the time it didn't seem outrageous to build a close integration. Note that I am not casting aspersions upon Aldiko. If they didn't care, it was hard for me to care. Calibre works so well at everything except the web server part that I can only figure nobody really wants to bother competing with it. That, along with the lack of support told me that (at the time) the project was unimportant to them. I use Calibre to create and edit my library, but Ubooquity to serve it and my comics to users (trying out the Kuboo client on Android for that right now too). I am happy with my PRS-300.Ģ) After the first email exchange, no messages were answered. If not, then you need to use links of the form. ![]() I don't know if aldiko is automatically recognized by calibre as an OPDS reader. Try using your server's IP address, probably something like .y where x and y depend on your setup. I was unable to justify spending my own money and my own time to help them, when in the end my only interest was the challenge of it. My guess is no, and I also guess that aldiko can't handle netbios names. It was up to me to purchase devices with differing levels of android OS, differing screens, etc. if the aldiko don't recognized it close the app and reopen it again. Is that it? I thought it was just lack of interest/financial support to get him an Android device needed to write the code.It was two things:ġ) they offered no support for obtaining devices. It makes your calibre collection available over the net. transfer or share it to android and open using aldiko app.Ĥ. calibre has a builtin web server, the The calibre Content server. open the file using the open containing location option of calibre, and choose the converted file epub.ģ. Convert the ebook using the calibre in pc with book cover you like in epub format.Ģ. Aldiko clearly reaches the Calibre server but will not accept my login and password. Here step I tried to solved this problem:ġ. I still can't log in from Aldiko or WordPlayer. ![]() The aldiko don't recognized the book cover but calibre recognized it. I also encounter the problem regarding the book cover. I'm also a user to calibre in window pc and aldiko in android tablet. Since I'm just learning how to get all this stuff into the tablet, I'm really confused about which method seems to keep everything intact.Īny advice or suggestions for keeping my created covers with the files in this process would be appreciated! I've imported many of these through the content server, and some through Dropbox (where I keep my Calibre library), and others, well, I'm just not sure how the heck I did it. On others, the cover I've created doesn't show up, but the file's original front page does instead. When some of my books import into Aldiko, they have the cover image (generated from the plug-in) intact and it shows up on the Aldiko Shelf thumbnail. I have Aldiko 2.1 installed on my Android 2.3 tablet and am using Calibre 8.33 to manage my library. ![]()
